Extended Dealer Warranty

Is it worth having an extended warranty for 2007 Forester?
We just bought and the seller is offering to extend the standard 3 / 36000 warranty. I wonder how reliable is the Subaru, and if I'm losing extra money in the 2 / 20000. Any ideas?
I'm thinking of keeping my '07 Outback forever, so I bought the warranty. I will only put about 5,000 miles a year, so that in 3 years, I only have 15 thousand miles on the car. Sure would hate to break something in the 37 months to less than 20,000 miles in the car and get stuck with the bill. My daughter bought an extended warranty for exactly the reason why front of me. She manages her Subie while fly through of the 36,000 miles in about 18 months - maybe less. Would aspire to owning a car less than 2 years and break something that would otherwise be covered by a warranty. Ask about repair of a key. My other daughter has an Acura Integra. I bought an extended warranty, because she would be 350 miles away from home in college and I never wanted her to feel free to take the car for repair. (We went through that with the first daughter!) With 75,000 miles the head gasket blew, which apparently is "expected" Integra and Civic particular time. That was a repair of thousand dollars, which was twice what I paid for the warranty. This is another scenario ... If you have windows power, for example, replacing an engine can cost as much as 2 / 20, 000 warranty you're considering. Ask what the repair cost. One thing to note is that there are many different types of extended warranties and various levels of coverage. (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, whatever ...) A selling point guarantee that I have is that I can get the job done anywhere, not just a Subaru dealership. It depends where you are in the country, but there some places where it would be hours and hours of a Subaru dealership. My warranty also gives forth INTERRUPTION trip and a rental car, my regular auto insurance only provide if there was an accident. It is necessary to take into account the mileage put you in the car and how long it will keep and how much risk is willing to assume. I try to help people assess their dental insurance needs several times a month. It comes down to the same thing. If you look at "past performance" NEVER worth for most people to pay high premiums for individual coverage. All you have to do is break a tooth, however, and the entire analysis goes out the window. purchase any type of insurance with the hope that they do not need an extended warranty and the same thing. Wait a day or two and see what some of the the mechanics of this section has to say about it.
