It's a 2007 Toyota extended warranty good or bad?

I bought a 2007 Toyota Camry last year W / 3 year factory warranty 36,000 miles I've traveled almost 31,000 in 8 months-dont ask-i along several trips w / family-an extended warranty to cover the car for 5 years and 50,000 more miles is $ 1200. It is the platinum plan w / a $ 100 deductible. My friend says he does not mind, but I do not want to get hit with costly repairs to the road if I could reduce it. Is it a good or a waste of money "Oh I still owe $ 8000 in the car --

An extended warranty is always good - for the person selling it! of miles you put on your car, another 50,000 miles will come and go within a little over a year. And you will be $ 1200 poorer.
